Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2008 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures, which included the work Puppies' breakfast by Walter Hunt. The price achieved of GBP 39,650.00 (€ 41,644.04) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Walter Hunt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Highland Hearth, which sold at auction in December 2009 for GBP 79,250.00 (€ 89,396.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Puppies' breakfast von Walter Hunt zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 39.650,00 (€ 41.644,04) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Walter Hunt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Highland Hearth beobachtet, die im Dezember 2009 für GBP 79.250,00 (€ 89.396,79) versteigert wurde.
