Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of USD 47,500.00 (€ 34,126.01) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Walter Hunt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Highland Hearth, which sold at auction in December 2009 for GBP 79,250.00 (€ 89,396.79).
