This artwork by Walter Harrowing achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2000. In the SPORTING ART AND DOGS auction, the work A fox sold for GBP 2,585.00 (€ 4,097.54) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Walter Harrowing; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A springer spaniel resting in a landscape sold at auction in November 2018 with the realized price of USD 5,250.00 (€ 4,636.58).
