Auction result well in line with expectations
The work American the Fabric Merchant by Walter Gould was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June 2010. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 9,120.70) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walter Gould achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work American The Public Scribe in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,217,000.00 (€ 781,731.76).
