Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June 2002 Christies in London held the auction British Art on Paper including Original Book Illustrations, which included the work Paddling in the sea by Walter Goodall. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 564.00 (€ 872.38). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Walter Goodall - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The catch, which sold at auction in September 2007 for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,792.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion British Art on Paper including Original Book Illustrations durch, in der auch die Arbeit Paddling in the sea von Walter Goodall zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 564,00 (€ 872,38) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Walter Goodall mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The catch beobachtet, die im September 2007 für GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.792,41) versteigert wurde.
