Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sunset by Walter Goetz was sold in the British, Continental & Russian Pictures auction at Christies in London in March 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 336.00 (€ 494.55) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Walter Goetz have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Boat Race in October 2012 with an auction result of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,351.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sunset von Walter Goetz wurde im März 2007 in der Auktion British, Continental & Russian Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 336,00 (€ 494,55) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Walter Goetz auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Boat Race im Oktober 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.351,64).
