Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a young lady, seated three-quarter-length, in a white dress with blue sash by Walter Ernest Webster was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 875.00 (€ 1,111.70) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walter Ernest Webster achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Japanese Fan in November 2004 with an auction result of GBP 33,460.00 (€ 48,132.03).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 875,00 (€ 1.111,70) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
