Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2008 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work A goatherder, the Basilica of Ta'Pinu beyond, Malta by Walter Dexter. It changed hands for a price of GBP 687.50 (€ 852.52) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walter Dexter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The carpenter's workshop in November 2002 with an auction result of GBP 34,655.00 (€ 54,267.94).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit A goatherder, the Basilica of Ta'Pinu beyond, Malta von Walter Dexter zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 687,50 (€ 852,52) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Walter Dexter erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The carpenter's workshop im November 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 34.655,00 (€ 54.267,94).
