Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2011 a collector was able to acquire the work Five Illustrations For Arthur Kelly'S The Rosebud And Other Tales - 'The Mirror' (One Illustrated) by Walter Crane for GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,074.34). This price was achieved in the auction Christie's Interiors at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 4,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walter Crane achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Fate of Persephone that fair field Of Enna, where Proserpine, gathering flowers, Herself a fairer flower, by gloomy Dis Was gathered. (Paradise Lost, Book IV, lines 268-71) in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 424,650.00 (€ 656,837.38).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juni 2011 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Five Illustrations For Arthur Kelly'S The Rosebud And Other Tales - 'The Mirror' (One Illustrated) von Walter Crane für GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.074,34) erwerben. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Fate of Persephone that fair field Of Enna, where Proserpine, gathering flowers, Herself a fairer flower, by gloomy Dis Was gathered. (Paradise Lost, Book IV, lines 268-71) im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 424.650,00 (€ 656.837,38).
