Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a gentleman, half-length, in a grey goat and black sash, with a sword by Wallerant Vaillant was sold in the Old Master Paintings & Sculpture Online auction at Christies in London in December 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 9,774.53) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wallerant Vaillant - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of A Young Man , which sold at auction in January 2016 for USD 32,500.00 (€ 30,003.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman, half-length, in a grey goat and black sash, with a sword von Wallerant Vaillant wurde im Dezember 2020 in der Auktion Old Master Paintings & Sculpture Online bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 9.774,53) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
