Sold at the upper estimate price
In March 2017 Christies in Dubai held the auction Dubai: Modern and Contemporary Art, which included the work Ceremonies by Walid Siti. The auction ended at the price of USD 15,000.00 (€ 14,021.31), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 12,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Walid Siti - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Three Point View, which sold at auction in March 2015 for USD 31,250.00 (€ 29,094.13).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im März 2017 führte Christies in Dubai die Auktion Dubai: Modern and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ceremonies von Walid Siti zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 14.021,31) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 12.000,00 – 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Walid Siti mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Three Point View beobachtet, die im März 2015 für USD 31.250,00 (€ 29.094,13) versteigert wurde.
