In March this year Christies in New York held the auction First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online, which included the work Untitled (de Venecia: Año 1962.) by Wade Guyton. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 8,190.00 (€ 9,317.71), 37% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wade Guyton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 5,989,000.00 (€ 4,390,762.46).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 37 % übertroffen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (de Venecia: Año 1962.) von Wade Guyton zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 8.190,00 (€ 9.317,71) und damit 37% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wade Guyton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.989.000,00 (€ 4.390.762,46).
