Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2006 Christies in London held the auction Sporting Art, Wildlife and Dogs, which included the work The Poltimore Hunt, By J. Harris by William Widgery. The price achieved of GBP 600.00 (€ 868.19) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Widgery - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Highland Cattle Watering At A Stream, which sold at auction in June 2001 for GBP 1,057.50 (€ 1,756.72).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion Sporting Art, Wildlife and Dogs durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Poltimore Hunt, By J. Harris von William Widgery zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 600,00 (€ 868,19) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 500,00 – 800,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von William Widgery mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Highland Cattle Watering At A Stream beobachtet, die im Juni 2001 für GBP 1.057,50 (€ 1.756,72) versteigert wurde.
