It achieved a price of USD 4,788.00 (€ 4,543.99), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 60%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by W. Eugene Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Walk to Paradise Garden, 1946 in October 2016 with an auction result of USD 52,500.00 (€ 47,892.72).

Die Arbeit Lines of Steel Pittsburgh, 1955-1956 von W. Eugene Smith kam im April letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 4.788,00 (€ 4.543,99) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 60%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von W. Eugene Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Walk to Paradise Garden, 1946 im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 52.500,00 (€ 47.892,72).
