This artwork by Vladimir Tatlin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2007. In the Russian Art and Paintings auction, the work Costume Design For A Life For The Tsar (Ivan Susanin) sold for GBP 70,100.00 (€ 98,158.14) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 40,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Vladimir Tatlin; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Nude sold at auction in June 2013 with the realized price of GBP 122,500.00 (€ 142,979.44).
