In February 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary Russian Art, which included the work Before The Celebration, After The Celebration by Vladimir Ovchinnikov. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 43,200.00 (€ 64,042.45), 73% above the upper estimate. This high result makes Before The Celebration, After The Celebration the most expensive artwork by Vladimir Ovchinnikov that we have observed at auctions so far.
