Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Art of the Soviet Union, which included the work Niche Surrounding A Drunken Man by Vitaly Komar. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 31,216.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Vitaly Komar have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in June 2021 the work Three Eggs in an Oval Niche was auctioned for GBP 35,280.00 (€ 41,110.37).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Art of the Soviet Union durch, in der auch die Arbeit Niche Surrounding A Drunken Man von Vitaly Komar zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 31.216,59) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Vitaly Komar konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Juni 2021 die Arbeit Three Eggs in an Oval Niche für GBP 35.280,00 (€ 41.110,37) versteigert.
