Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Almshouse man (Mr. Adrianus Zuyderland) raking by Vincent van Gogh was sold in the TWENTIETH CENTURY ART INCLUDING BELGIAN ART auction at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2003. The price achieved of EUR 142,450.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 120,000.00 – 160,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Vincent van Gogh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Verger avec cyprès in November last year with an auction result of USD 117,180,000.00 (€ 113,513,513.51).

Die Arbeit Almshouse man (Mr. Adrianus Zuyderland) raking von Vincent van Gogh wurde im November 2003 in der Auktion TWENTIETH CENTURY ART INCLUDING BELGIAN ART bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 142.450,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 120.000,00 – 160.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Vincent van Gogh erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Verger avec cyprès im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 117.180.000,00 (€ 113.513.513,51).
