Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Femme en laitière tenant une pensée dans un paysage by André Villers was sold in the Portrait Miniatures auction at Artcurial in Paris in September this year. The price achieved of EUR 1,968.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by André Villers achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Young Gentleman, In Grey Silk Coat With Large Buttons Engraved With The Initials A And G Respectively, Turquoise And Yellow Striped Waistcoat, Frilled White Shirt And Knotted Scarf, Powdered Hair in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 14,400.00 (€ 21,384.45).
