Auction result well in line with expectations
The work La fôret a l'Isle Adam, Seine et Oise: gathering wood in the forest by Victor Viollet-Le-Duc was sold in the Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings auction at Christies in Amsterdam in January 2006. The price achieved of EUR 1,800.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Victor Viollet-Le-Duc - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work On the river at L'Yonne, Bourgogne, which sold at auction in March 2008 for GBP 3,250.00 (€ 4,082.81).

Die Arbeit La fôret a l'Isle Adam, Seine et Oise: gathering wood in the forest von Victor Viollet-Le-Duc wurde im Januar 2006 in der Auktion Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 1.800,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden.
