Auction result well in line with expectations
The work SMART EXPORT by Valie Export was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art auction at Christies in London in September 2013. It changed hands for a price of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,723.82) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Valie Export have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'Einkreisung' (Encirclement) (From Körperkonfigurationen (Body Configurations)) in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 60,480.00 (€ 51,927.53).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit SMART EXPORT von Valie Export wurde im September 2013 in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 5.625,00 (€ 6.723,82) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Valie Export auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'Einkreisung' (Encirclement) (From Körperkonfigurationen (Body Configurations)) im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 60.480,00 (€ 51.927,53).
