In February 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings Evening Sale, which included the work A Fortune Teller, Bravo, Lute Player, Drinking Figure, And A Pick-Pocket by Valentin de Boulogne. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,935,000.00 (€ 1,584,636.80), 29% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Valentin de Boulogne - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Crowning With Thorns, which sold at auction in January 2016 for USD 5,178,000.00 (€ 4,780,280.65).

Im Februar 2018 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Paintings Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Fortune Teller, Bravo, Lute Player, Drinking Figure, And A Pick-Pocket von Valentin de Boulogne zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.935.000,00 (€ 1.584.636,80) und damit 29% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Valentin de Boulogne mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Crowning With Thorns beobachtet, die im Januar 2016 für USD 5.178.000,00 (€ 4.780.280,65) versteigert wurde.
