It achieved a price of GBP 2,394.00 (€ 2,785.45), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 60%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Vagrich Bakhchanyan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Stalin Test, which sold at auction in February 2007 for GBP 6,000.00 (€ 8,894.78).

Die Arbeit Tolstoy No.1 von Vagrich Bakhchanyan wurde im September 2021 in der Auktion Escape Artists – The Non-Conformists Online bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 2.394,00 (€ 2.785,45) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 60%. Für andere Arbeiten von Vagrich Bakhchanyan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Stalin Test beobachtet, die im Februar 2007 für GBP 6.000,00 (€ 8.894,78) versteigert wurde.
