Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Boys As Firemen by Utagawa Yoshiharu was sold in the Japanese and Korean Art auction at Christies in New York in March 2005. The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,600.00 (€ 2,775.85), 20% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Utagawa Yoshiharu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The great elephant from a foreign land (Ikoku watari dai zo no zu), which sold at auction in July 2018 for GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,606.10).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Boys As Firemen von Utagawa Yoshiharu wurde im März 2005 in der Auktion Japanese and Korean Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 3.600,00 (€ 2.775,85) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Utagawa Yoshiharu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The great elephant from a foreign land (Ikoku watari dai zo no zu) beobachtet, die im Juli 2018 für GBP 5.000,00 (€ 5.606,10) versteigert wurde.
