Twenty-two triptychs: Dai gensui heika gaisen gochakukyo no zu (Picture of His Imperial Majesty, commander-in-chief of the army and navy, arriving at the capital in triumph), 1895.4.26, signed Baichosai, sealed Kokunimasa, published by Ozeki Iwakichi; along with twenty-one triptychs of various subjects, many Sino-Japanese war battles on land and sea, two depicting treaty negotiations; a parody of the war with children, most signed Kokunimasa ga, three signed Ryua ga, variously published--generally good impressions, good color, many trimmed, soiled, stained, damages

Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Utagawa Kokunimasa could be acquired at Christies in New York in September 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Japanese and Korean Art auction, the work Unknown changed hands for USD 1,200.00 (€ 945.85) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Other works by Utagawa Kokunimasa have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in September 2006 by the work Unknown at USD 1,560.00 (€ 1,229.61).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Utagawa Kokunimasa konnte im September 2006 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Japanese and Korean Art wechselte die Arbeit Unknown für USD 1.200,00 (€ 945,85) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Utagawa Kokunimasa wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im September 2006 die Arbeit Unknown mit USD 1.560,00 (€ 1.229,61).
