Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2018 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) Including a Selection of Japanese Woodblock Prints from Private Collections, which included the work Merah Satu (One Red) by Umi Dachlan. The price achieved of HKD 50,000.00 (€ 5,643.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Umi Dachlan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Perahu (Boats), which sold at auction in May 2019 for HKD 112,500.00 (€ 12,875.59).
