Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A quiet afternoon in the Tuileries gardens, with a view of the Louvre, Paris by Ulisse Caputo was sold in the Old Masters, 19th Century and Impressionist Art auction at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 2,750.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ulisse Caputo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work At the dressing table in April 2000 with an auction result of GBP 17,625.00 (€ 30,173.29).
