Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture, which included the work A Bearded Man, Bust Length, In A Grey Cape by Ubaldo Gandolfi. The price achieved of USD 230,500.00 (€ 176,236.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ubaldo Gandolfi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A sleeping legionary in a helmet, which sold at auction in July 2010 for GBP 373,250.00 (€ 448,791.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2013 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Bearded Man, Bust Length, In A Grey Cape von Ubaldo Gandolfi zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 230.500,00 (€ 176.236,72) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Ubaldo Gandolfi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A sleeping legionary in a helmet beobachtet, die im Juli 2010 für GBP 373.250,00 (€ 448.791,07) versteigert wurde.
