The work Rain in Ginza (Ginza no ame) by Tsuchiya Koitsu was worth GBP 4,410.00 (€ 5,131.14) to a buyer in May 2021. This price was achieved in the auction Japanese Woodblock Prints | Including the Sokolov Collection at Sothebys in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 900.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Tsuchiya Koitsu; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Unknown sold at auction in September last year with the realized price of USD 6,375.00 (€ 6,516.41).
