The work Nikko Gojunoto (Five-Storied Pagoda, Nikko) Nara Horyuji (Horyuji Temple, Nara), 1938.6 Yuki No Miyajima (Miyajima In Snow), 1937.1 by Tsuchiya Koitsu was sold in the Japanese and Korean Works of Art auction at Christies in New York in September 2004. It achieved a price of USD 956.00 (€ 769.91), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 20%. Admittedly, works by Tsuchiya Koitsu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Unknown in September last year with an auction result of USD 6,375.00 (€ 6,516.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Nikko Gojunoto (Five-Storied Pagoda, Nikko) Nara Horyuji (Horyuji Temple, Nara), 1938.6 Yuki No Miyajima (Miyajima In Snow), 1937.1 von Tsuchiya Koitsu wurde im September 2004 in der Auktion Japanese and Korean Works of Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 956,00 (€ 769,91) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 20%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tsuchiya Koitsu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Unknown im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.375,00 (€ 6.516,41).
