This artwork by Tsuchiya Koitsu achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2005. In the Japanese and Korean Art auction, the work Ginza No Ame (Ginza In Rain), From The Series Tokyo Fukei (Views of Tokyo), 1933.11 sold for USD 2,160.00 (€ 1,665.51) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tsuchiya Koitsu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Unknown, which sold at auction in September last year for USD 6,375.00 (€ 6,516.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 80 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Tsuchiya Koitsu erzielte im März 2005 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Japanese and Korean Art wurde die Arbeit Ginza No Ame (Ginza In Rain), From The Series Tokyo Fukei (Views of Tokyo), 1933.11 für USD 2.160,00 (€ 1.665,51) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.200,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Tsuchiya Koitsu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Unknown beobachtet, die im September letzten Jahres für USD 6.375,00 (€ 6.516,41) versteigert wurde.
