Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art Online Sale, which included the work Diversity Tribe, 2020 by Tsham Mateng. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,020.00 (€ 1,173.30) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Tsham Mateng have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Congolese L'Unicitation in April 2019 with an auction result of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,632.89).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2021 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art Online Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Diversity Tribe, 2020 von Tsham Mateng zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.020,00 (€ 1.173,30) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tsham Mateng auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Congolese L'Unicitation im April 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.632,89).
