In March 2001 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work Fishing off Bombay harbour by Tristram Ellis. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 446.50 (€ 720.47), 28% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tristram Ellis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Epping Forest, Walthamstow in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 18,000.00 (€ 26,711.09).

Im März 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fishing off Bombay harbour von Tristram Ellis zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 446,50 (€ 720,47) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tristram Ellis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Epping Forest, Walthamstow im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.000,00 (€ 26.711,09).
