Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2003 Christies in New York held the auction JAPANESE AND KOREAN ART, which included the work Scenes from the Tale of Genji by Tosa Mitsusada. The price achieved of USD 4,780.00 (€ 4,385.32) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tosa Mitsusada - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Scenes from The Tale of Genji, which sold at auction in September 2008 for USD 17,500.00 (€ 12,428.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2003 führte Christies in New York die Auktion JAPANESE AND KOREAN ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit Scenes from the Tale of Genji von Tosa Mitsusada zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.780,00 (€ 4.385,32) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Tosa Mitsusada mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Scenes from The Tale of Genji beobachtet, die im September 2008 für USD 17.500,00 (€ 12.428,09) versteigert wurde.
