The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 3,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than six times as high at USD 18,750.00 (€ 16,001.02). This high result makes The Actor Iwai Hanshiro the most expensive artwork by Torii Kiyomasu I that we have observed at auctions so far.
