Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2006 Christies in London held the auction The Scottish Sale, which included the work Gathering Kelp by Tomson Laing. It changed hands for a price of GBP 864.00 (€ 1,237.96) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 700.00 – 900.00. Other works by Tomson Laing have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2002 the work The old smithy was auctioned for GBP 998.75 (€ 1,564.06).
