A top price for Tommy Gondorra Steele - as previously expected
In August 2021 Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Jima Jima (Water Lily), 2007 by Tommy Gondorra Steele. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 6,273.00 (€ 5,316.10) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Jima Jima (Water Lily), 2007 is the most expensive artwork by Tommy Gondorra Steele that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im August 2021 führte Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Jima Jima (Water Lily), 2007 von Tommy Gondorra Steele zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 6.273,00 (€ 5.316,10) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Jima Jima (Water Lily), 2007 das teuerste Kunstwerk von Tommy Gondorra Steele, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
