Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work West Texas Holidays 16 x 32 in. framed 25 x 41 in. by Tom Ryan was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in December last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,550.00 (€ 2,383.62). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tom Ryan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Starry Night in February 2019 with an auction result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 43,940.59).
