This price was achieved in the auction Christie's Interiors - Including 20th/21st Century Pictures at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Tom McGuinness; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The road to work sold at auction in August 2015 with the realized price of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 8,234.59).
