This artwork by Tokuhiro Kawai achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2013. In the Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) auction, the work The Little Mermaid: Interference By The Masterpiece sold for HKD 200,000.00 (€ 18,962.22) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tokuhiro Kawai - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sleep Collector, which sold at auction in May 2014 for HKD 425,000.00 (€ 40,194.28).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Tokuhiro Kawai erzielte im November 2013 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) wurde die Arbeit The Little Mermaid: Interference By The Masterpiece für HKD 200.000,00 (€ 18.962,22) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 80.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Tokuhiro Kawai mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sleep Collector beobachtet, die im Mai 2014 für HKD 425.000,00 (€ 40.194,28) versteigert wurde.
