Gelatin silver print, signed, inscribed 'To Ferd' and annotated 'This sign has always fascinated me in all its different scrolls and letterings, it has been one of my great photographic impressions of Paris' in ink on the flush-mount verso.

Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work Defense d'Afficher (Post No Bills) by Todd Webb for USD 701.25 (€ 643.05). This price was achieved in the auction Town | CountryPhotographs Online Sale at Bonhams in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Todd Webb achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sixth Avenue between 43rd and 44th Streets, New York in April 2021 with an auction result of USD 37,800.00 (€ 31,421.45).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2019 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Defense d'Afficher (Post No Bills) von Todd Webb für USD 701,25 (€ 643,05) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Town | CountryPhotographs Online Sale bei Bonhams in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Todd Webb erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sixth Avenue between 43rd and 44th Streets, New York im April 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 37.800,00 (€ 31.421,45).
