This artwork by Tobias Edward Rosenthal achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in April 2004. In the 19th Century European Art auction, the work His Madonna sold for EUR 31,070.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 15,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Tobias Edward Rosenthal; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Sailor's Return sold at auction in November 2006 with the realized price of USD 60,000.00 (€ 45,245.46).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Tobias Edward Rosenthal erzielte im April 2004 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 19th Century European Art wurde die Arbeit His Madonna für EUR 31.070,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 15.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Tobias Edward Rosenthal; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The Sailor's Return im November 2006 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 60.000,00 (€ 45.245,46).
