Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Odalisque by Tito Conti was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,922.01). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tito Conti achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Italian Agreeable Tidings in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 66,000.00 (€ 48,316.25).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Odalisque von Tito Conti im Oktober 2019 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.922,01) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tito Conti erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Italian Agreeable Tidings im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 66.000,00 (€ 48.316,25).
