Auction result well in line with expectations
The work In the Wine Cellar by Tito Conti was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2003. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,535.00 (€ 13,381.86) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tito Conti - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Italian Agreeable Tidings, which sold at auction in April 2007 for USD 66,000.00 (€ 48,316.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit In the Wine Cellar von Tito Conti kam im Oktober 2003 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.535,00 (€ 13.381,86) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Tito Conti mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Italian Agreeable Tidings beobachtet, die im April 2007 für USD 66.000,00 (€ 48.316,25) versteigert wurde.
