Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2006 Christies in London held the auction Maritime Pictures, which included the work Lord Brassey'S Steam Yacht Sunbeam Off The Royal Yacht Squadron At Cowes, Her Sails Gleaming In The Sun by Timothy Franklin Ross Thompson. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,080.00 (€ 1,576.45) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Timothy Franklin Ross Thompson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The opium trader Speculation, the P. & O. steamer Canton, the U.S. clipper Sea Serpent and Perry's U.S. Squadron lying off Hong Kong in November 2011 with an auction result of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 13,133.22).

Im Mai 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion Maritime Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lord Brassey'S Steam Yacht Sunbeam Off The Royal Yacht Squadron At Cowes, Her Sails Gleaming In The Sun von Timothy Franklin Ross Thompson zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.080,00 (€ 1.576,45) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
