Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Three-Master In Light Airs, Early Morning by Timothy Franklin Ross Thompson was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 264.00 (€ 385.35). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Timothy Franklin Ross Thompson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The opium trader Speculation, the P. & O. steamer Canton, the U.S. clipper Sea Serpent and Perry's U.S. Squadron lying off Hong Kong in November 2011 with an auction result of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 13,133.22).

Als die Arbeit A Three-Master In Light Airs, Early Morning von Timothy Franklin Ross Thompson im Mai 2006 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 264,00 (€ 385,35) den Besitzer.
