Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Hungariannude And Plants by Tibor Csernus was sold in the Contemporary East auction at Sothebys in London in November 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 42,500.00 (€ 51,143.06) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Tibor Csernus have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in June 2008 the work Hungarian Untitled was auctioned for EUR 71,550.00.
