Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction The Scandinavian Sale, which included the work Norwegian Ved Porten (By The Gate) by Thorolf Holmboe. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 5,625.00 (€ 7,155.25). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thorolf Holmboe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A young girl preparing the table for tea in the garden, which sold at auction in March 2002 for GBP 10,575.00 (€ 17,287.34).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Scandinavian Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Norwegian Ved Porten (By The Gate) von Thorolf Holmboe zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 5.625,00 (€ 7.155,25) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Thorolf Holmboe mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A young girl preparing the table for tea in the garden beobachtet, die im März 2002 für GBP 10.575,00 (€ 17.287,34) versteigert wurde.
