A top price for Thornton Dial
In October 2019 Christies in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Auction, which included the work Trophies (Doll Factory) by Thornton Dial. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 200,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 225,000.00 (€ 260,983.86). With this result, Trophies (Doll Factory) is even the most expensive work of art by Thornton Dial that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Oktober 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Trophies (Doll Factory) von Thornton Dial zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 200.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 225.000,00 (€ 260.983,86) einen neuen Besitzer. Mit diesem Ergebnis ist Trophies (Doll Factory) sogar das teuerste Kunstwerk von Thornton Dial, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
