Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2004 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Shearing The Rams by Thomas (Tom) William Roberts. The price achieved of AUD 1,792.50 (€ 1,047.30) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas (Tom) William Roberts achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Louis Abrahams in September 2015 with an auction result of GBP 314,500.00 (€ 425,907.72).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2004 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Shearing The Rams von Thomas (Tom) William Roberts zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 1.792,50 (€ 1.047,30) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas (Tom) William Roberts erzielen.
